62nd Annual MPSE Golden Reel Awards Winners

Not many surprises as (again) Birdman gets group sound editing music award, while Get On Up the musical feature sound editing award, Unbroken gets the dialogue/ADR, American Sniper the FX/Foley and Big Hero 6 the sound and music editing for feature animation.

American Sniper, Birdman and Unbroken are nominated for the Oscar in sound editing category, along with The Hobbit and Interstellar. So, MPSE wealth is spread among several films, but in a way the tech award  relation to Oscar category goes to the now expected Birdman.

Also honored in the awards ceremony, Darren Aronofsky with the Filmmaker Award and sound editor Skip Lievsay with Career Achievement Award.

Motion Picture Sound Editors, the professional organization for sound editors, has released its 2015 Golden Reel Nominations honoring the work of sound editors in various areas of sound editing: Dialogue & ADR, Effects & Foley, and Music.

As previously announced the 2015 MPSE Filmmaker Award goes to Darren Aronofsky and the 2015 MPSE Career Achievement Award goes to Skip Lievsay. Awards ceremony will be held on February 15 at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel.
