95th Academy Awards International Feature Film Submissions
Update 2 November 1st - Since yesterday several renown American movie online outlets, and many blogs and movie enthusiasts have been announcing additional countries with submissions to #Oscars2023 International Feature Film category. There are three countries, Australia, China and Azerbaijan with no official announcement from film academy, film commission, cultural ministry or any other official film institution in each country. Data source seems to be lists sent to International Feature Film committee members in the first voting that will generate the list of 15 films that's scheduled to be announced on December 21.
Trully regret AMPAS chose not to release the official list of films that have qualified to be considered by the committee as only generates lots of confusion and speculation. Hope The Academy releases an official list of eligible film soon to clarify what's fact and what's fiction.
Most interesting is that Australia's entry is suppose to be one of my must-be-seen films as none other than Noomi Rapace plays the lead! On different news, it's claim that one (1) movie is absent from those lists, Malta's submission. So, for trying to keep the list as much reliable as I can will use the latest available info from industry's reliable sources as well as from other sources. I'm adding China, Australia, Azerbaijan and removing Malta.
Nevertheless, do remember below list is mainly the source of films that will increase my queue of must-be-seen movies, if I have not seen them already. Sigh.

Update 1 September22 - Yesterday AMPAS announced Bulgaria submission was rejected as has more than 50% English; there is still time to choose another film.

This year Ireland became the very first country to announce their Oscars entry to the 2023 edition of the Academy Awards. So, it's in August that we start the post even when since July been looking almost daily for info about this yearly post that really enjoy doing as gives me the panoramic of the films I'll be looking to forward to watch as soon as possible.
As mentioned there are many news from countries calling for producers to submit their films for consideration by local AMPAS approved Oscars selection committee and many have scheduled their procedure. At post end all press announcements will be listed with their respective schedule and will updated as soon as other countries announce their choices.
Worth sharing is that no related news have captured the attention of film industry press and social media as the one about France changing their selection committee to exclude heads of Unifrance and Cannes film festival. Somehow is no good news but Thiery Fremaux has been loud in the past when saying that he doesn't want to belong to the selection committee, to avoid possible missinterpretations when selection comes from Cannes Festival. Well. seems his wishes have been given by France's Ministry of Culture. By the way, the new committee has Jacques Audiard so indeed well-known film related master filmmakers are included.
We have to mention that submission rules has been modify to what they where before the pandemic. If you wish to read the news go official site here and to check the Special Rules for the International Feature Film Award go here.
To summarize the category and Oscars schedule let's start with category deadline being on Monday, October 3rd at 5pm Los Angeles time. Oscars shortlist announcements will be on Wednesday, December 21, 2022, nominations on January 24, 2023 and awards ceremony on Sunday, March 12, 2023.
So today, August 3rd, 2022 list starts right now.
