The surprise film in Venice is another movie by Werner Herzog! First time (in recent fest history) that a director competes with two films!

My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done
, Werner Herzog, USA and Germany (produced by David Lynch!)

The second surprise film in Venice is a Brillante Mendoza film!!!

Lola, Brillante Mendoza, Philippines

Jury
President: Ang Lee
Sandrine Bonnaire
Liliana Cavani
Joe Dante
Anurag Kashyap
Luciano Ligabue
Sergei Bodrov

The official selection definitively is eclectic with many movies having excellent casting and some extraordinary directors, including the debut of Tom Ford as a director and screenwriter!! In case the name is not familiar, let me tell you that he’s better known as a designer and if you ever bought “something” Gucci then maybe you own one of his designs. Gosh, this is really odd and well, we have to see what he did in this film that surely will be gay interest. Also there are many European movies, an unusual number of American films, some Asian cinema, one film from Africa, one from the Middle East and nothing from Latin America.

To check the films in the fest site go here; as of today the film list is only available, but one week before the fest there will be info about each movie.

I will try to find info for each movie and will post at the Trailers site. As soon as I have the info and available trailers I’ll post the link.
