Taken

This movie was a big surprise for me as is one of the best action movies I have seen lately, not necessarily for the story that is predictable but because the movie rhythm, the fast pace done with action –against editing- and because the hour and a half –or so- the movie lasts was like true adrenaline rush. Besides is the very first action film I have seen starring Liam Neeson and gee, he does it so good; as someone said: Neeson is vodka, like 007 Connery is martini (lol!) and whoever say it was absolutely right!

But the most unbelievable surprise is to find that this is not an American film, it is a French film (!!) directed by Pierre Morel and co written by none other that Luc Besson! Now I understand why this movie just grabbed my attention and I couldn’t take my eyes from the screen even when at moments they had the indispensable car chase and Neeson character kills everyone.

This is the type of movie that you watch knowing what the end will be, but what makes interesting is how the hero does everything and particularly only to this movie, how the director builds the tension that allows the adrenaline rush and an outstanding performance by a stern and calm Neeson that plays Bryan the father on a mission: to rescue his daughter. Even when the story has some unbelievable moments, it really does not matter as you just want to see more and time just flies rapidly.

As a movie it has good tech specs with views of raw Paris that is good for a change. This is a great escape moment movie where you hardly will notice time and when it’s over, it will stay with you for some time. I believe the movie is suited for all audiences, but I know that those that love American action movies perhaps will not like it as much, as it is quite different.

Enjoy!
