65th Venice Film Festival News


I know that is early but some interesting news are starting to appear and I feel like sharing them with you.

Regarding the jurors - Tunisian director Abdellatif Kechiche (President), along with actress Alice Braga, director and producer Gregory Jacobs, historian and critic Donald Ranvaud, and scriptwriter Heidrun Schleef have been selected as members of the Jury of the 'Luigi De Laurentiis' Award for a Debut Film at the 65th Venice Film Festival. As it has already announced, Wim Wenders will preside over the Venezia 65 jury, that will award the Golden Lion.

Regarding the Opening Film - Burn After Reading, written and directed by Academy Award® winners Joel and Ethan Coen, will open the Festival this year.

On Thursday 4th September Adriano Celentano will present the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to the great Italian maestro Ermanno Olmi.

The 65th Venice International Film Festival, organized by the Venice Biennale, will take place on the Venice Lido from 27th August to 6th September 2008.

Marco Müller will be the director of the next edition, continuing the work he began in 2004. The line-up of the Festival will be presented in a press conference in Rome on July 29.
