Sparkle

With a similar story to The Graduate this comedy stars a good looking Stockard Channing and always good Bob Hoskins and tells about a young lad that sleeps with both the mother and the daughter… well, in the beginning he was not aware of the gals relationship.

This romantic comedy is entertaining even when deals with a common story but here has a nice and happy ending that you tend to believe it as good resolution for a complex situation; but the best part of it is Bob Hoskins performance as a lovelorn older man. I particularly did not enjoy much Shaun Evans (I know him from UK TV series Teachers) performance (he plays Sam the young lad) but think that it has something to do with the way his character is developed more than his acting abilities.

The movie is good for entertaining purposes only and to escape a little from reality. Still most UK critics and viewers give good ratings to this movie, so you may like to give it a try.
