2007 New York Film Critics Circle Awards

These awards are often viewed as harbingers of the Oscar nominations and today the full list of winners was announced. The NYFCC awards ceremony will be held on January 6th in New York City. Here are the winners.

Best Cinematography — Robert Elswit / There Will Be Blood
Best Screenplay — Joel & Ethan Coen / No Country For Old Men
Best Animated Film — Persepolis
Best Foreign-Language Film — The Lives of Others
Best First Film — Away From Her / Sarah Polley
Lifetime Achievement Award — Sidney Lumet Special Critics Award — “Killer of Sheep” by Charles Burnett
