2026 The Actors Award Winners
Update March 2, 2026. Last night the guild had their awards ceremony and there where some very pleasant surprises that I have to mention even do belong to television. Yes! Keri Russell won for The Diplomat and Michelle Williams for Dying For Sex, finally. Bravas!
On the film categories winners were expected like Jessie Buckley winning best actress, Amy Madigan best supporting actress and Sean Penn best supporting actor. Only if something truly unexpected happens it is almost sure that these three actors will get an Oscar in less than two weeks as we have to remember that this is the guild with the largest voting Academy members that very often tilt the scale to win here and after there.
Then believe is still an open Oscars race in the best actor category and contenders are Micheal B. Jordan, who won last night, and Timothee Chalamet that is lagging because his movie release method made him join perhaps too-late the race and did not benefit his chances to be in a better position as an Oscar contender.
A major surprise for many industry pundits when Sinners wins best cast in a motion picture and for many opens the race to win the Oscar for best film, a race that many thought One Battle After Another had locked. But consider that not many (about half since inception) past SAG award winners in this category did go to win best picture; then today many industry press is reminding readers that Sinners is a vampire movie... no vampire movie has ever win an Oscar for Best Picture. Not Interview with the Vampire, not any version of Nosferatu nor any other A-listed vampire movie. So, if Sinners wins Oscars top award will be a first.
But even do this guild has the most Academy Oscars voters, One Battle After Another remains the favorite as has win top awards in other guilds with large numbers of Academy voters. Nevertheless, this situation makes Oscars award show more interesting and perhaps will help me to stay awake until the end of the show as this category is the last to be given. Sigh.

January 8, 2026
Yesterday, January 7, nominees for Actor Awards Presented by SAG-AFTRA honoring outstanding individual, cast and ensemble performances for the past year were announced by Janelle James and Connor Storrie via Netflix’s YouTube channel.
The nominees for outstanding action performances by film and television stunt ensembles were announced by Actor Awards Committee Members Jason George and Elizabeth McLaughlin. SAG-AFTRA President, Sean Astin, kicked off the livestream with opening remarks.
This is the new name for what was known as the Screen Actors Guild Awards and this is the 32nd edition of these awards that honor actors and more people who entertain and inform audiences around the world.
The Actors Awards is the only televised awards ceremony that exclusively honors actors in TV and film and nominations in 6 film -and 8 TV categories- are voted by the largest guild of all that vote for the Oscars as has more than 160,000 members; so, the nominations and winners tend to foresee possible Oscar nominations and winners in acting categories.
One Battle After Another cast leads the pack with seven (7) nominations and is a milestone record for the awards history. There are some unexpected nominations like Kate Hudson and Jesse Plemons but what is making loud noise are the snubs like the cast of Sentimental Value, Cynthia Erivo, Wagner Moura, Dwayne Johnson, Adam Sandler and what some outline in black: "all foreign-language movies and performances were shut out of the 2026 race" which sends a message many are still wondering what means for Oscars nominations.
As previously announced, Harrison Ford is the 61st recipient of the SAG-AFTRA Life Achievement Award that honors his career and humanitarian accomplishments.
The 32nd Annual Actor Awards ceremony will stream live globally on Netflix Sunday, March 1, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET from the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hallin Los Angeles.
