XXV Goya Awards News – Latin American Films


A total of ten (10) Latin American films are currently being screened to define the five that will be nominated for a Goya Award. These are the films.

Chance, Abner Benaim, Panama
Contracorriente (Undertow), Javier Fuentes-León, Peru
Del Amor y Otros Demonios, Hilda Hidalgo, Costa Rica
El Hombre de al Lado (The Man Next Door), Mariano Cohn and Gastón Duprat, Argentina
El Infierno (Hell), Luis Estrada, Mexico
José Martí: el ojo del canario, Fernando Pérez, Cuba
La Vida de los Peces (The Life of Fish), Matías Bize, Chile
La Vida Util, Federico Veiroj, Uruguay
Retratos en un Mar de Mentiras, Carlos Gaviria, Colombia
Taita Boves, Luis Alberto Lamata, Venezuela

On other news, 116 films premiered in Spain between January 1st and December 31st, 2010; 72 are feature films, 39 are documentaries and 6 are animated films; all are being considered to select the nominees and to learn about all movies go here. Nominations will be announced on January 11th, 2010.
