35th Annual People’s Choice Award Winners

Yes I saw the show last night until I fall asleep, oops! There are many categories that I simply was not interested and the show lacks total suspense as before the winners are announced you already know who will win just because they're in the audience. Nevertheless I enjoyed watching overly enthusiastic Queen Latifah hosting skills and laugh when Ellen Degeneres won the favorite talk show host award and covered for Kate Hudson in the first award to be given, as she was late thanks to traffic (?!).

Since I do follow the critics and industry awards it is fair to include at least one award given by audiences. As expected the awards are absolutely different to what industry members honor, but they’re representative of what audiences like to see in mainstream cinema.

Favorite Movie: The Dark Knight (there is always the possibility that the Academy recognizes this great movie, but there are other movies that fit better the profile of what members like to nominate)
Favorite Comedy Movie: 27 Dresses (this movie grows on you and I admit that have seen it a few more times on cable TV… he, he)
Favorite Movie Drama: The Secret Life of Bees
Favorite Family Drama: WALL-E (this probably will be the only exception to the rule, as I’m positive that will get an Oscar nomination and would not be surprised if wins)
Favorite Action Movie: The Dark Knight
Favorite Cast: The Dark Knight
Favorite On Screen Match Up: The Dark Knight
Favorite Female Movie Star: Reese Witherspoon
Favorite Female Action Star: Angelina Jolie
Favorite Leading Lady: Kate Hudson
Favorite Male Movie Star: Will Smith
Favorite Male Acation Star: Will smith
Favorite Leading Man: Brad Pitt

To check winners in other categories go here. If you like to read what one UK critic thinks about these awards go here, somehow I do agree with most of what he writes.
