20th Vancouver Queer Film Festival

From August 14 to 24 this festival will take place at Vancouver, Canada and unfortunately most of the movies are more of gay interest than of lesbian interest. Still there are some that already have been around the fest circuit. Here are some of the films that will be screened.

Opening Gala: Cheonhajangsa Madona (Like a Virgin), Lee Hae-yeong and Lee Hae-jun, Korea, 2006
Closing Gala: XXY, Lucia Puenzo, Argentina, Spain and France, 2006
20th Anniversary Gala: Little Sister’s vrs. Big Brother, Aerlyn Weissman, Canada (documentary)

Confessions of a Sorta STR8 Drag King, Alexis Fosse Mackintosh, Canada, 2008 (World premiere documentary)
Searching 4 Sandeep, Poppy Stockell, Australia, 2007 (A must be seen documentary for me)
The Secrets, Avi Nesher, Israel, 2007 (Lucky you that live in Vancouver!)

They also will be screening Pusinsky (Dolls), Drifting Flowers, Vier Minuten, Love My Life, Le Nouveau Monde, Out at The Wedding, and The World Unseen.

If you want to learn more about the films, parties, special events, etc. I suggest you download the pdf file called Festival Guide that you can find here. To check all the films, shorts and documentaries go here.
