Fauteuils d'Orchestre (Avenue Montaigne)

The literal translation of this movie title is Orchestra Seats and I suppose in English they decided to use the very chic Paris avenue name because everything happens in that avenue, but actually the literal translation could have worked better as movie viewers will seat to watch this serious and delicious slice of life of several characters that are ending something just to begin something new, as well as all the attendees seat to enjoy the piano concert, the Feydeau farce and the auction of the great collection of modern art.

This Danièle Thompson film is a nice, light and refreshing romance, comedy and drama movie that will leave you feeling good with all the happy endings to all the stories. The movie has an ensemble of very good actors that perform very well with Cécile De France, Valérie Lemercier, Laura Morante, Albert Dupontel, Claude Brasseur, Christopher Thompson, Dani and American Sydney Pollack.

This is a very elegant movie, as elegant as everything that you find in that famous avenue, with a great music score that includes Beethoven’s Concerto No.5 Emperor; has some incredible views of Paris at night and the striking Eiffel Tower with playing lights. Actually it has everything to spend sometime daydreaming about elegant Paris life as you can even see the great Plaza Athénée hotel (ah! the memories…).

Anyway not a masterpiece but an extremely enjoyable French film to watch that will please everyone that loves good light French movies.

Enjoy!!
