The Women

This is my first post about a movie that is in post-production and won’t be in theaters until October 2008. But since is a project that I want to follow I want to record it here.

After seeing the great photo spread in Vanity Fair I got really curious about this movie and well I really hope this new adaptation of the Clare Boothe Luce play will be as good as it appears to be especially when in the 2008 version, several women are working in the fields of fashion design and publishing, and the character of Alex Fisher played by Jada Pinkett Smith is openly lesbian.

The film, which was produced by Victoria Pearman and Mick Jagger of Jagged Films, Bill Johnson of Inferno Productions, and English, is being released by Picturehouse, a joint venture of HBO and New Line Cinema.

With an almost all female cast this movie promises to be at least worth to watch just to see all of them interacting. Just take a look at some of the main characters.

Meg Ryan as Mary Haines
Annette Bening as Sylvia Fowler
Eva Mendes as Crystal Allen
Debra Messing as Edie Cohen
Jada Pinkett Smith as Alex Fisher
Candice Bergen as Catherine Frazier
Cloris Leachman
Bette Midler as Flora DeLave
Carrie Fisher as Nancy Blake
Debi Mazar as Olga
Ana Gasteyer
Lynn Whitfield
Joanna Gleason
Keegan Connor Tracy as Dolly Dupuyster
Isabella and Olivia Panteledes as June Fowler

Well, as time flies so fast, soon we will able to confirm if is as good as it could be.
