A Tout de Suite (Right Now)

Isild Le Besco, from Sade and Backstage fame, is the heart and soul of this Benoît Jacquot film based on true events that tells the story of a bourgeois 19 years old girl that meets the love of her life. He turns to be a bank robber; she hides him and escapes with him to Spain, Morocco and Greece, to eventually return to Paris.

The story is set around 1975 and what is absolutely outstanding about this movie is the cinematography with the use of black and white that gives the feeling of watching an European movie from that era. It looks, it feels and it becomes an old ‘70’s movie. The fabulous acting by Le Besco equals any performance by many great French or Italian actresses of the seventies and complements the retro feeling.

This is a very classical French movie that might not be for all tastes as is more an art film than any other genre.
