To read the official press release go here. Now we know and yes, there are some surprises (Taiwan and Denmark) but now I believe will be easier to guess the five that will get a nomination this year.
Out of the nine films was able to guess four (Iran, Germany, Israel, and Poland) in my Academy predictions and concur with only two (Iran and Germany) from my selection. That shows us how far I am of what foreign language films Academy members like in a non-English movie. Sigh.
Aww, I'm sad there's no Le Havre.
ReplyDeleteI'll guess Canada, Germany, Iran, Morocco, Poland for the final 5.
And we all know who's going to win.
Yes no Aki, sigh. Guessed less than you LOL! Think we all know which one will win... BUT after all this category can give HUGE SURPRISES -always not positive- and maybe, maybe there will be a race between Poland and Iran... let see if Poland makes it to the nomination (probably will)... :)
ReplyDeleteBonjourT, Germany was out of this category, was hoping for 2 nominations.. instead Israel got in and well, Belgium was sort of predictable that was going to get a nod. But we know the movie that will win and yes, it's well-deserved. So glad, Asghar Farhadi got a nomination for Original Screenplay. Cheers!
