According to Canal+ site, the closing ceremony will take place Sunday May 24 at 18:45 France time. They have a countdown clock that as of this very moment reads: 1 day, 7 hours and 43 minutes…
Perhaps this time they could stream it live, but surely this is the place where the video will be first as happened with the opening ceremony. If you feel like watching go here.
Update
It is 6:30 pm @ Cannes local time and the Canal Plus clock reads: 8 hours and 12 minutes... no online watching for sure!!! Will have to find and follow a live-blogger or twitter or facebook or whatever!!! grrr!
THANKS TO TWITTER I found the ceremony is on TV5 Monde... and is true, just started... I can't believe I'll watch live and on my TV. Great! See you later...
You're sooo lucky Storyteller! I really want to see the whole closing ceremony! Darn! I still appreciate the video of the closing ceremony photocall and press conference available at the official Cannes site, but I really want to see the full ceremony as well.
ReplyDeleteI wish we had a channel that broadcasts Cannes Film Festival here in the US. But all they cover about Cannes here is Brad Pitt and other Hollywood stars and what they were wearing and some other nonsense. Yawn, not interested.
Anyway, I voted Un Prophète to win because of the great reviews it was receiving, but Haneke won the Palme d'Or. Congratulations on his success! But my question is: who was your choice to win the Palme d'Or, Storyteller?
Hi KL,
ReplyDeleteI did a Twitter search for Cannes and found a twit from USA telling everyone that TV5Monde - USA was showing the closing ceremony! So, if you had cable/satellite and the TV5Monde channel you could have watch it live!
Yeah, know that USA TV is very local with only USA related news,as if the world is not of interest for Americans...
I believe that maybe today or this week the official site will have up the complete closing ceremony and in HD, as they did with the opening ceremony; so, you'll be able to watch it complete.
From scenes, as there was no trailer, I was most impressed by Haneke... yeah, I voted for The White Ribbon... but it was a lucky guess, as I haven't seen the film and Cannes is really "unpredictable"... if not, who could have guessed the many Asia wins?? Not me. But I'm looking forward to watch Spring Fever!
Thanks for voting, your comments and visiting the blog and hope you had fun with Cannes, as much as I did. ;)
