I almost forget to check this year’s Sundance Queer Lounge site to find the LGTB movies, but if you want to learn the films by LGTB filmmakers and producers and LGTB themed please go
here. Unfortunately most are of gay interest and as far as I read there are not many lesbian interest films, except perhaps for one.
Drool, Nancy Kissam, USA, 2008 (in Slamdance)
After her attempt to escape from her abusive husband accidentally ends with his death, a wife and her cosmetics-selling best friend (who may be more than that) head out on a cross-country trip to bury the corpse.
Sundance and Slamdance start tomorrow.
hmmm.. sounds a little like Boys on the Side.. I guess I will have to see. :)
ReplyDeleteYes... but also like a Thelma and Louise perhaps without the strong violence... anyway as soon as I find more info, I'll post it in the other blog. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, well Kibs take a look at Nancy Kissam description of the movie:
ReplyDeleteDrool is about an abused woman, Anora, who befriends an African American neighbor, Imogene. Their relationship crosses over the friendship line into romance and when the louse of a husband discovers them, he tries to kill them both. However, the tables are turned when Anora - quite by accident - kills him. The remaining family then toss daddy in the trunk of Imogene's "Kathy K. Kosmetics" car and drives him to Savannah to be buried. It's a dark comedy
So, its a comedy!
